Got the new HS700D THE OTHER DAY
To upgrade from my white version of the HS700 what I did not know was the blades are bigger and the motor is bigger was very surprised to see this because I thought it was just a camera upgrade. Hope this helps with some answers about the HS700D. Plus it’s very close to the same price range

Holy Stone HS700D

This is my 4th Holy Stone drone with each one adding new features as I upgrade and learn more. This drone brings a high definition camera on a gimble so that you can pan down and up during flight. This camera has as best I can describe a suspension system to help buffer some of the vibration that occurs during flight. The HS700D also comes with GPS which is a must if you are hoping to take your drone home and not lose it as I have unfortunately done. Another super plus is “Brushless Motors” which are a definite upgrade to the standard motors on most lower end drones. The improved battery is designed to give you a max 22 minutes flying time, another improvement. Speaking of improvements I have a large smart phone in a phone case which did not fit on my previous drone phone holder unless I took off the phone case, it fits with the phone case on the HS700D. These small improvements go a long way for me.

So how does it perform? I took it out late this afternoon for its maiden voyage. It performed well and appears to be very responsive to the slightest control movements. I tend to over correct and hoping that will go away as I have more flight time under my belt. It was brutally hot on the soccer field but little to no wind, go figure Atlanta in the summer. As the flight time wound down I actually let the drone hover above me for a welcome blast of air. Then I remembered that the drone has a follow me function so I pressed the button and let the drone follow me back to the car.

There are so many features I have yet to try out but my first impression is a well built, sturdy and powerful drone. The extra battery time was noticeable.

Looking forward to the mapping out a flight plan option, and will be using the follow me option when it is time to pack up!

I upgraded from the HS 120D to the HS 700D. My thoughts:

The first thing you notice about the 700D is the size -- it's significantly larger than the 120D. With the battery inserted, it's also significantly heavier. To put it simply, this is a "big" drone. As you'd expect, the 4 electric engines are far more powerful and the drone is fast. At full throttle, the drone climbs to 100m in a matter of seconds. The drone is also capable of large, fast laps around the neighborhood. The 700D does more than simply hover for photos -- this thing can fly!

Performance aside, the 700D provides a very stable viewing platform. I found that the drone typically communicates with 10 to 13 satellites (the transmitter displays this), and when the controls are released it will maintain a near constant position in the sky. With the extra weight and more powerful motors, the 700D does a far better job of managing the wind than the 120D. Thus far, the wind is an afterthought while flying the 700D.

The 2K camera has a wide angle lens that provides for great photo opportunities while flying around. The app is intuitive and easy (it will feel familiar if you have flown Holy Stone before), and low res photos save automatically to your phone via WiFi. I recently ordered a TF card, and will try 2K videos and photos once I receive it.

I had some difficulty with the WiFi range, which has impacted my ability to record low res videos without a TF card. I live in a high density area, and I think the "crowded" WiFi environment and the many power lines nearby are interfering with the WiFi signal. I recently purchased a cheap WiFi range extender (not sure if compatible with the 700D yet), and will try that soon.

I highly recommend this drone. With its swivel wide angle camera, big motors, and impressive performance, your friends will take one look at this and think you spent $1000s (they don't need to know that you spent under $300)! What else is there to say? Well done Holy Stone!

This drone is a very nice flyer. Was a little windy today, but was still able to get it up there with no issues. The 2k camera is definitely a game changer. Really will allow for some good videos in the future. My video above is the first flight. Can't wait to get it out there and test out the range.
RTH worked like a charm. Very easy to get setup and ready to fly. Props are very easy to install. This is going to be a fun flyer.

Yes I like it very much. I tried connecting all the parts straight out of the box... but I couldn't get it to work. I offered my drone praise and positive affirmations... it still didn't work. Then I read the instructions in English, because that's the language I use, even though it was made in China. You MUST pair and calibrate it, in order to make it work. Step #9.7, holding the drone vertically and rotating it for 3 circles is the most complex part, because it didn't want me to do this to it, as indicated by the red light that turns on. But the red light is actually what we are seeking! It made me so joyous as the propellers starting turning in a very quick motion. Soon, lift off, as you guide the drone so there it goes! Fly Drone Fly! I didn't fly it over military bases, but maybe my friends will. I really like the return to home feature, however, it didn't go back home to my house, it just returned to where I was operating the craft. Maybe at night, some folks think it's a UFO. Those folks are idiots. I really enjoy this drone, it really is enjoyable, and offers joy to those seeking happiness. All the best to you...................
