Great Drone For Beginners and Price

I purchased the HS270 GPS. It is lightweight quality drone with a solid plastic shell. The camera takes great pictures and videos. The quality is better with the memory card in the drone. The Drone was very flying under the wind. The controls are very simple to learn and navigate. It comes pre-programmed to beginners level which is a great feature to allow the user get used the drone functions. Once you are comfortable, remove the beginners setting to really fly the drove further and higher.

I love the auto return home function as the drone will return once the signal is lost or the battery level is low. I wish the battery lasted longer but I'm very happy with my purchase and will purchase a higher end Drone in the future. Thank You Holy Stone and Amazon.

I've always flow smaller RC planes and quad copters, but this was definitely a level up from previous drones. I'm not good enough to share video yet (still too shaky of a pilot!), but the camera on this drone is excellent. I plan on getting some great aerial footage once I become more comfortable flying the drone.

This drone is full of features, many of which I haven't gotten to test yet. I did try out the return to home and follow me commands, both of which worked great. I suggest taking off from a large empty area, as the RTH feature means business: the drone immediately and quickly returns to home when instructed to do so.

My maiden voyage was on a very windy day (7-10 MPH winds). I got a little over 15 minutes of flight time with the battery out of the box. Total recharge time for the battery was roughly 4 hours using an Apple iPad charging block and provided micro USB cable.

Overall, I'm very excited to get some flight time in with this drone. The construction seems sturdy and the drone conveniently folds up for transport. I'll be looking in to getting a box for this, but in the meantime, the box it came in works fine.

Did some research for drones under US$200 and this one appeared in almost all searches so I decided to buy it. It has not let me down. Its as complete as advertised. I'm a beginner and it has been fun. Still learning but this drone makes it easy.

So I give this quadcopter 5 stars, but not everything about it is perfect. It's not really the fault of the company, so I'm not going to penalize the rating based off my experience. I will start with the cons first...

1. The drone is very difficult to keep stable in flight, it tends to wobble like a top at the end of it's spin cycle. Granted, this only happens when trying to hold position. In flight the wobble goes away.
2. The app needs a little work. 120 degrees field of view is cool when flying, but I wish it was optional. All of my videos have bent edges which don't look very professional. The ability to crop the video in app would be awesome. Also, adjusting exposure would help with post production. Essentially the camera is not adjustable (exposure, zoom, balance, focus, etc) like a cell phone has.
3. I'm not sure I understand the micro SD card slot. I put a card in it... And nothing. I tried taking pictures and videos without the app, but nothing is stored on the card. Instructions on how to make this work would be nice.
And now for the good stuff...
1. Battery life is decent, made better by the fact that HS sent me a free extra battery for reviewing their customer service.
2. It's a nice CHEAP beginner drone. If you crash it, it's not a heart stopping moment.
3. Pictures come out amazing... I mean AMAZING. Adjusting camera in flight is a nice touch.
4. I like that if you keep a battery in the drone (even for charging) then the calibration memory stores in the drone and you can just take off after pairing it to remote (up-down on left stick). You can also hot swap the battery without turning off the drone for seamless flight extension.

There are many more things I wish I could say, but you have to experience this baby yourself. App limitations and probably useless vibration stabilization prevent this from being a perfect 5 stars... But it's still a 4.9 for this price range.
