I bought this having no experience at all of flying drones and it is nice! I will say if your getting a drone for the first time make sure you read the instructions very carefully because they’re are a lot of things we missed but they are all in there so we figured it out. Love the build very sturdy and flies well! Would definitely recommend.

Bought in Nov for less than $130. A great price for an impressive mid-level drone. So much better than the frustrating and disappointing "toy" ones. My 11 yr old loves it! Yes, a bit of a learning curve to get up and running, and you should read the book (or on app). Hope the "free battery" offer works out. One item of concern is I don't see spare batteries for this model offered on the Holy Stone site, or on Amazon.

I have flown several smaller drones that can be classified as toys and then I decided to step up and get something I can fly outside. The HS 270 is definitely not a toy! It also is a very responsive drone that hovers nicely too.
The setup was easy to follow. Do it exactly as the manual says and you will not go wrong! If you have never flown a drone outside, it may be a good idea to wait on a calm day to do so. It is manageable to fly it with some wind but it will bounce around. Just point into the wind and be prepared to give it some forward thrust - be gentle. Due to the weight of the drone it can handle a bit of wind. ( I have flown smaller drones outside and I can tell you the wind will blow it away if you are not prepared for it! )
When the drone first lifts off, it hovers just a few feet off the ground. I say this cause I was not sure what it will do, so just in case you have wondered the same thing...now you know. So far I have not checked how long the battery lasts but it does have a long flying time. Will update later about that eventually.
So far the flight has been responsive and predictable with no surprises. Will take it out to a larger area after the winter to test its range next.
This drone may not be as fancy as others out there but it is not as expensive either. So if you are looking for a large size drone to fly outdoors, maybe this one is a good one to try.
