This is an update to my pevious review of the Holy Stone 165. You must make sure that you follow the set up and take off directions to the letter. Do not rush thoough it or skip any steps. PRO TIP: Do as much set up as you can before powering the drone on. Have you wifi settings on your phone displayed so that you can select the app selecton as soon as it appears. Every second that you can save will give you more fight time. Once you power the drone on, immediately turn the power on the remote on. The time it takes to pair can vary using presicous battery life. Once pared, imediately check your phone wifi settings and select the app connection as soon as it appers then open the app. It helps to have the phone on airplane mode to pervent unecessary interfearance. Make sure that the gyros have calibrated (listen for the beep and watch the lights) and make you have the right amount of satalights if you're going to use the GPS. This drone is perfect for the back yard or for on the go sefiees. You can also fly it indoors with the GPS off. It is not suited for ariial photos. The drone is very light with brushed motors so the highr you take it, the more the wind will effect it and you don''t want to risk losing it. Flying it at eye level is best. The further you fly it away from you, the harder it is to see the lights and you could lose your orentation. Although it does drift a little when hovering, it is very responsive and fun to fly. Saving as much time as you can on pre-flight is critical because you will be suppriesed how fast 15 minuets go. It is truely a beginner drone best suited for short distance, low altitude flying. The the famly out and take some nice selfies. It's small and very light. You can put it in your pocket if you need to. However, it does come with a great case for the drone, remote, the extra battery and the charging cable which you will need. The charging cable is a propriortory cable so you can't use just any cable for charging the batteries. It's good for children (supervised) of to take out on you lunch break at work to blow off a little steam and clear your head. Overall, a nice beginner, play drone for the price.

Holy stone drones... What can I say.... Wow... 1st time flyer and I must admit... Very easy to operate and handle... So easy my 4yr old son can fly it around the yard. I haven't really had the chance to dig deep into the app for it since the battery flight time is roughly 15 minutes or so. Today I finally got some serious heights on it to a point I could not see it any more in the sky. My whole family truly enjoys the product and will from now on, only shop Holy stone for our drone and accessory needs.... I want another one already since this is the beginning of a new hobby the kids and I can enjoy outdoors..

If looking for a drone for beginners I would recommend buying this one. Great drone, easy to fly and fast shipment. The return to home works great, the take off button is excellent and has GPS the more features.

Got this drone as a birthday gift from my parents. Been talking about learning how to fly drones and learning how to use it for videos. This little drone is a perfect drone for me to learn the ropes...it's not too large, yet it is big enough that it doesn't get blown away by a light breeze.
It's responsive, speedy, and fun to fly around. I know I don't have much to compare it to at the moment...but I can say that I'm hooked on flying this little drone and take it out daily.
The camera isn't the most powerful...but it gets the job done. For me, it is going to give me the opportunity to learn the basics and eventually upgrade to a more powerful drone in the future.

For the price...you can't go wrong with this drone.
