 A) set-up
The set up was not too hard the landing gear has some small screws but you have extra in case you drop one. The connection to the my cell phone worked well the camera quality did very good. The battery lasted and expected
B) Controller
The worked as expected the adjustments did a good job getting a balance.
C) I did find this worked great in my house and is easy to control in small spaces. The kid did have a fun indoor and out side. But due to the windy conditions near the beach made it a challenge to keep stable.

Basic drone to learn how to fly (without AI help!)

<Disclaimer> I am pretty new to the whole world of drones </Disclaimer>
After playing for a month with my reasonably expensive "camera" drone I recognized that (a) my pilot skills are really-really limited (b) I didn't crush only because in that "camera" drone all of the positioning gadgets work as designed (c) I would really-really hate to break that drone.

So, I decided to experiment on something basic that I am not afraid to "hang" on the various pine trees around the house. This $60 drone perfectly fit that category - and it even had some fun extras, so kids (I have 4 of them) would also enjoy it afterwards (as long as it survives :-) )

To summarize:
- it has very sensitive controls! I would consider it a plus, since I am an amateur musician – but some beginners may find it difficult. So, please, fly “low and slow”
- nice lights! Even in the twilights the drone was very visible.
- flight time as specified (I definitely got above 15 min), but it would’ve been great to have another battery (although, I don’t think that finding something compatible would be a problem)
- altitude hold does its job perfectly (was very surprised to get it in the entry-level drone)
- well-designed controller with understandable trimming mechanisms. But trimming has to be applied pretty often, especially if you have any wind. This drone is very light, so it is seriously impacted by slightest breeze. So, even the drone holds the altitude, you HAVE to lift it up in the area where you can apply some adjustments.
- it FLIPS in all directions (my 5 yo son was amazed

Good drone but slightly over price for beginners

Hs140 little toy lightweight. I have several holy stone drones and others company product.but this tiny drone is a bit disappointed to me. The product packing and design not impressed. To assemble the landing gears ,it’s has four very tiny screws so tiny needed magnifying glass for better sight.flying times is decent but lightweight not so stability will carry with the wind.the remote control have too many functions so it’s not so much friendly for beginners. It doesn’t have on /off on build in with the drone and slightly over price compared with the similar products in the market might have better options.
That’s why is only four stars.Don’t get me wrong overall this product is still a good product it’s does what as it advertised.my opinion the price should be lower based on the product quality.have fun

Great beginner drone

This is an excellent first time drone. It is very easy to fly and only takes about 5 mins to assemble.

The drone seems sturdy enough to take a few knocks and crashes and comes with an extra set of blades if you end up busting your first set while learning. One of my favorite feature is that the camera is removable allowing you to practice flying without the fear of breaking the camera.

My first flight with it was indoors and it had a great amount of control. I could easily fly it through hallways and around the room without any fear of crashing. And it's even easier to fly once you take it outside!

Overall, I think this is an excellent drone for this price point.

Highly recommend! This is my second HS Drone and I'm very happy with it. Great for my daughter to use as well! I've had the HS110 and the HS140 is smaller but with a more impressive camera (with shock-absorbing gimbal for more stable images) and app functions. Flight also seems more stable than the HS110. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of no Power button on the Drone itself. However, the kit is well-shipped and the iPhone controller app is very well designed in this version. I've found HS drones to work great and offer an awesome value. The stainless-look design gives it the look of a futuristic movie drone. Lots of fun!

Bought this because I have another HS drone which I like a lot and my grandson loves. I thought this will be a step up.
Holy Stone advertises this as a toy and that's what it is. Right out of the box I could tell it was going to be difficult to fly in the wind due to it's light weight. Putting it together was difficult as it has very very tiny screws to attach the landing props with. The drone comes with one battery and I wish it were more. The battery is small and has to be charged via a usb There us a card the box in which you can get a free battery from HS. . The remote is ridiculously large and feels cheap.
Upon first take off the little guy flew into a the building we were near just missing my girlfriend. May have been my fault for holding the stick wrong, but it happened so quickly I'm not sure.
After playing with the "A" and "B" switches (trimming) the drone handled much better. It wasn't super stable but did hover and control pretty well.
Overall I think the drone is fine for a beginner but think you'll be buying another HS soon after.
