Holy Stone customer service is great. I had an issue getting the the drone to work with the HS GPS v4 app. Response time to my emails was fast. I called Holy Stone customer support receiving a prompt return call. A very nice lady worked with me trouble shooting the issue. It was finally determined I needed the HS GPS PRO app.

I am a beginer flying drones and HS 165 is my first drone to own and fly. I have no experience to compare this drone with. After fixing the app issue I like it. I would recommend the HS 165 for other beginners.

Small and light drone, becarefull with windy conditions, comes with two batteries, that were very fast to charge , the remote control comes with a rechargable battery, and also charges fast. takes decent quality pictures and videos.
What I didn't like is that the battery runs out pretty fast. (keep an eye on the the power bars) , So maybe having a couple more batteries will come in handy.

Got the package today. Too excited to try and could not wait to charge the battery to full. It is a excited day, it was very easy to set up and sync with my phone and the camera works well, The app for the phone work very good and you have fun because you can see in live mode by the camera. We can't wait to try how far it can fly and how stabely when the drone running.

Good starter GPS drone

This drone is a good flyer for its price. It has GPS built in and if you happen to lose signal or if the battery is low the drone will return to it's original point of takeoff.
It has the features of more expensive drones like "follow" and "waypoints" for autonomous flight. Comes with nice carrying case and an extra battery.
The flight time is pretty good, about 10 minutes per battery. And it's range is enough that you can barely see the done at its max distance.
Only down side is that at this price point your going to get a basic camera with no gimbal to smooth out the jitter and shakiness. Still the video is decent quality and photos look pretty good.
The learning curve on this drone is medium. If you're a beginner my suggestion is to get plenty of practice with a smaller drone (Holystone makes great mini drones) until you have good understanding of the controls. Or make sure your first few flights are out in an open field.

I am happy with my purchase for my first drone. Once I got use to the controls fling it has been fun. The follow me feature is one of the best features I use. The only the that I don’t like is I can’t fly the drone without the GPS being on and because of my location it may take some time for the drone to connect to 7 or more satellites.

Tested the “follow-me” function while driving in my car. It performed very well. A top speed of around 12-13mph and it stayed with me the entire trip and at the set height

No 360 degree flip button but for the performance of the control, it is more than acceptable
