Compact, clear FPV GPS drone for beginners

This is the most compact drone I've tried from Holy Stone. The drone comes in a nifty carrying case that can be used to carry this drone around. The battery packs are slim and easy to add/change (you get two). Follow the instructions carefully for calibration, the lights can be difficult to see. If you are flying this indoors, be sure to turn off the GPS mode on the remote or it will never fly. It works great using the included remote control, but if you want a first-person view (FPV) you can download the HS GPS PRO app from the app store (iOS or Android). I find it easier to use the app for the view, but continue to use the remote control for flight control. The camera is in a fixed position and no gimbal, but the picture is reasonably clear when flying. All in all a great starter drone that you can take with you anywhere!

I purchased this HolyStone and fell in love with it. It is easy to fly and I never felt out of control. I am really pleased with the camera. It takes beautiful pictures and videos too. It held up fine in the light wind I was in.
This drone comes with a carrying case which is extremely nice. Everything fits well and it is compact and has a nice finish. The foldable arms are convenient for storing the drone.
The pictures and videos save straight to your phone, so no worrying about memory cards or transferring files. I would recommend this drone for those looking for a little more for their money. Great for kids and drone enthusiasts.

This product is very well designed compact aerodynamic.it come with a nice case is a plus you can carry it anywhere. It took me a while to figuring out how it’s work to fly .after do some research. Once downloaded the HS165 app.it leaned fairly easy. ‘This drone even by size is compact but it fly very stable and with the GPS assist return home feature it’s almost unlikely you will lost a drone again unless the GPS signals loss. it’s still have a feature either the one key take off landing button the drone will landed at the last location where it take off or emergency force the drone disarm and drop wherever it is. Overall is a very good product it’s does whatever functions that it is advertised pretty accurate .it worth the price with all the featured.Have fun!!!!

This is a fun little drone that is jam-packed with some great features. The handy carrying case holds a compact drone weighing in at 6 ounces. Also included are two batteries, each with a capacity of about 15 minutes of flight time, a rechargeable controller, charging cables and a repair kit consisting of a screwdriver, screws and four extra propellers. High quality photos and videos can record directly to a phone through the drone’s wireless connection and optionally on a microSD card on board the drone. Charge the batteries, unfold the drone and it’s ready to fly right out of the box. The One Key Takeoff button lifts the drone and hovers it at about 5 feet and ready for soaring adventures. The HS GPS PRO app is a bonus that turns your phone into a controller, a live feed, a status indicator and an instrument panel. As the phone screenshot indicates, the drone was at a height of 48.2 meters (158 feet) and at a distance of 46.5 meters (152 feet). Flights are fun and the drone is easily controlled. The Return To Home (RTH) worked flawlessly. At one point, the wind picked up and pushed the drone into a tree branch, causing it to fall about 20 feet into the grass. I brushed off the dirt and continued flying the tough, sturdy drone. I recommend this amazing little drone for the beginner or the seasoned drone pilot. It has features that really perform at a price that is an excellent value compared to the competition.

Laura

Very easy to fly and holds positions even in windy conditions. The automatic take off and landing feature and it’s ability to self hover makes this extremely easy for a beginner. Yet it’s still responsive for more seasoned flyers.

So. As a relatively new drone hobby enthusiast, I was looking for a new drone for me. I did a lot of research on the internet on the offer, which could be a good gps drone for me on a low budget. But stil good quality product and I decided to try this HS165. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. to shorten the story, I'll just write down my expirience of it*s strengths and weaknesses. :)

Advantages:
-it came with nice bag and two batteries!!
- its light and foldable (:practical for traveling)
- flying range is very good ( I didn*t test the limits yet)
- exellent stability
- good design
- decent video, photos
- fly very well
- very practical for travel, (I bought it in combination with a bag and two batteries)
- Excellent and responsive customer service
- rth works good (drone : low batterie or lost conection) or you just press the button if you want and it come back to spot that it take off.

Disadvantages:
- I didn*t find any so far..

I will probably get some more batteries to have even more fun…
my personal opinion of this drone is: It*s a good buy for the money. I recommend it !

Update: I have this drone 5 weeks now, and I did fly with it almost every day. (I don*t want to fly drones in hight wind:) I am still very impresed on performance of this little thing. especialy on sunny days with no wind. Good quality I must say.
