Return home function works great, it means I'll never lose it in the wind like my first drone. Flight time is good. Overall really easy to control and get the pictures you want. Not a racing drone, maneuvering is deliberate, but not fast. It is excellent for what I wanted, an easy to fly drone that takes good pictures and video. The fact that it can't get away from me is really nice! This company, Holy Stone has great Customer Service.

This HS700 drone is one of the best drone I have personally bought. It holds up steady in the air, even on a windy day like today Nov 8,2018. My only down fall with HS700 is camera connectivity, and battery charge time, but still would buy again

The Holy Stone HS700 is by far Holy Stones best drone to date as well as the most sophisticated. It took me several flights to get comfortable with all the features in addition to its range and handling. Overall, I am a big fan of this drone. It is quick and agile and the picture / video quality is great. It also has a 20 minute battery life which is a big positive. The brushless motors makes it very quiet and the return home function is a nice feature. The app is laid out well and is easy to use. I would recommend this drone even to a beginner.
I did however find two cons with this drone.
1. It takes over 4 hours to charge the battery, I recommend getting 2 or 3 batteries so you can fly more than twice in a day.
2. I find it hard to get the SD card out of the camera with my fat fingers. I can get it out, but I have to use a knife edge to push it in to unlock it.

The Holy Stone HS700 is my fourth and now favorite drone. The GPS capability makes this drone so easy to fly that anyone beginners or experienced pilots will truly enjoy it! The "Return to Home" button really makes flying a drone more carefree, because you basically have a "get out of jail free” card. The first time you push it may scare you a bit because the drone will shoot straight up to 98 feet then move horizontally to hover over the home point where initial compass calibration took place. It will then slowly descend and remarkably land within 3 feet of the home point. The 1080p onboard camera is incredible and shoots great high definition pictures and video. I thought initially that there was a video problem when I saw black lines in some of my videos, but soon realized that this was caused by facing the camera lens directly toward the sun and the black lines were caused by the propellers shadows. The included 8Gb micro SD card can store a great deal of images. Make sure you have at least one good index finger fingernail to push down on the SD card to eject it. You can use the same "fingernail" method to reinsert the card, but beware that the card may launch out of the camera if you don't get it fully depressed and would be extremely hard to find in the grass. If you enjoy this drone as much as I do it would be wise to invest in a second battery to extend your flying sessions. The included battery performs very well and gives 20 minutes of flight, but the recharging process is safe & slow as to not overheat the battery. Holy Stone even included a protective container to place the battery in during charging and storage in case of a battery malfunction. The follow me function that is available only on the free "Ophelia" app is fun, but keep a close eye on your drone. It does not have obstacle avoidance built in and will fly into a tree or other obstacle as it follows you, so please watch your step! I cannot recommend the Holy Stone HS700 drone more highly. Most drones with similar features cost much more. Holy Stone put a great deal of thought into this drone's design. It is their first high performance brushless motor model and the phone app is really incredible with all the added features such as "follow a sketched path", "point of interest", "built in live map", "drone altitude", "drone distance from home" besides the camera control and "tap fly" capability. I have not been brave enough to put on my VR goggles and try the 3D split screen while flying the drone, but I greatly anticipate the day I have the nerve to try it!
Easy way to get started in the drone hobby.

My short review of this drone is it has everything you need to get the real experience of operating a drone and performs beautify. The HS700 is a real treat to fly especially for beginners.
I have several drones, mostly hobby grade racing style from 2” - 7” prop sizes. All of which I have built from scratch. They are fast and fun but I only let my sons or myself fly them. Also the hobby drones need a lot of maintenance.
The HS700 shines in its ease of use and stable, consistent, and predictable flight qualities. I was out flying it at our local park with my son and we handed the control to a 10-year-old boy who never flow before. The young guy got the hang of it right away. I would never do that with any other drone I own.
The folks at HolyStone also include a battery bag for charging. This is more than just a nice touch. It’s the kind of detail a hobbyist knows is an important detail for safely charging Lipo batteries but someone new to the hobby might overlook. Also include are the tools needed to to remove the props and install the landing gear, and a nice notebook with post it tabs and a pen. It’s good practice to make notes on your flights. Again, everything you need to just go fly.
I have crashed the HS700 (more than once I’m afraid) and it holds up quite well. I once (okay twice) hit a tree and it fell about 20’ to the ground. After cleaning it up it fly like new.
One thing to keep in mind is that after you power it on by inserting the battery and have it paired to the controller, you need to calibrate the drone in order to get it to fly. To do this, place the drone on a flat surface and pull both controller joysticks down and to the left. The lights under the props will blink fast green than alternate yellow and green slowly. Next spin the drone flat about three times until the lights all flash slow green. Lastly point the nose of the drone up and rotate it until the red light are solid in the front and green LEDs are solid in the back.
The iOS App is easy to set up and use and the video is clean and very usable for flight but not up to the task of professional cinematography. Flight times are long. I haven’t timed it but it’s several times longer than any of my other drones. They say 20 minutes and I have to believe it’s close to that.
This is a great kit at a relatively low price point and I feel it would be wonderful for anyone who want to dip their toes in to the drone hobby.
Great drone for the price point

The hs700 is my second drone experience following the hs200. It’s set at a reasonable cost, especially considering the features. I really like the follow me, return to home, and GPS features. It gets quite windy where I live and the GPS feature keeps it right where I want it, awaiting my command. The only drawback I see so far is a slight lag when taking a video. Overall, a huge upgrade for an extra $200. Overall, I would recommend this drone for an intermediate flyer.
