Great little indoor beginner drone

At first test the drone out of the box is fantastic, it blows away a similar drone from a different company by a mile. The way it charges 2 batteries at once is a big win if your looking for extended run time. It has a perfect hover and with 3 different speeds its quite fun to fly. Overall very shocked at the quality and the design of the drone. Its been very easy for my 4 yr son to learn to fly it from the start. Totally recommend this.

Great little indoor drone. The light is great for keeping track of it. Pets lived to chase it. Is a gift for a 9 year old but we had to text it out first

Nice toy, excellent to practice

Safe Fun For Everyone

This is a fun little toy. Very safe with guarded propellers and obstacle avoidance sensors. Precise control when using the handheld remote or play hot potato with a friend using hand gesture control. 3 batteries included and ability to charge 2 at a time.

My first impression of the HS330, judging by its size and general appearance, was that it was just a fancy toy. After playing with it for a while, I came to realize that it is a drone as well as a toy, sharing features and operating characteristics with its bigger and more sophisticated cousins. It can operate in either of two modes: "Throw and go" or remote controlled drone.

Throw and go is what I consider to be the "toy" mode after powering it up and calibrating the gyro (a simple process), you toss it into the air. it begins a series of random maneuvers, abruptly changing direction and ascending and descending suddenly, occasionally flipping in mid-flight. In this mode, the drone’s course can be modified by bringing the flat of the hand alongside or underneath. By means of specific hand gestures, the drone can be made to turn a flip, fly in a small circle, or spin in place. The only drawback I noticed is it will occasionally fly to the ceiling and stay there.

In remote control mode the drone responds to the included remote the same as the bigger ones, just on a smaller scale. It has a trim control, as well as 3 speeds and headless mode. I found that flying around indoors gave me practice fine-tuning steering and breaking the habit of oversteering like a beginning driver. I feel this will improve my skill and control of larger drones. This can serve very well as the first drone of any beginner.

The included 3 batteries provide up to 7 minutes of flight each, depending on conditions and flying style. Don’t try to fight the wind - you’ll lose. With the dual charger, one battery took about 45 minutes and two at once charged in about an hour and 15 minutes.

If I was disappointed at all, it was in the tiny instruction book with its minuscule text. I was able to download the manual from the Holy Stone website, but it was for an earlier version and did not include the information about how to trim the drone.
